Horner responds to Newey's criticism: "Issues more deep rooted than last year"

Recently Adrian Newey sparked speculation regarding Red Bull Racing's claiming the Austrian team's management were not concerned with the issues that seemed to be afflicting Red Bull's chosen concept due to the RB19's sheer dominance. Ahead of the F1 75 Live event at the O2 Arena, Horner replied to his former designer's comments.
Regarding Newey's criticism, the British team boss said the following to select media present in London, including GPBlog. "I'm not sure. I haven't seen those comments. I think the issues are more deep-rooted than just last year."

"When you really dig into the data and some of the characteristics, you start to see them much earlier than that. Certainly during 2023," added Horner, agreeing with his former designer's comments in a way, who had pointed to 2023 as the moment when the issues began to arise with the RB19.
"I think it was a matter of unraveling it to understand what were the contributing factors to having a very peaky performance. I think that's where the team have worked very hard to understand that and address it," concluded Horner.
