At the end of last season, Max Verstappen and George Russell were at odds with each other over how a Qualifying incident at Qatar and a subsequent meeting with the Stewards played out. Has their row been put to rest? Verstappen answered that question to GPblog and others.

The feud between Verstappen and Russell

Following an incident between Verstappen and Russell in qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix, the Dutchman was given a grid penalty. The four-time world champion said after the race, which he managed to win despite his penalty, that he had lost all his respect for the Mercedes driver.

Russell defended himself claiming that Verstappen had gone on a swearing rant during the stewards' meeting and that the Red Bull driver had even threatened to "put his head in the wall". The Dutchman himself did not agree with the three-time race winner's recount of events, even calling Russell a liar.

How are things between Verstappen and Russell now?

Several months have since passed. Russell already confirmed at the F1 75 event that the two did not speak to each other during the winter break. The Briton also revealed that he still stands by his words from before said break.

Naturally, Verstappen was also asked about how his relationship with Russell has been since the harsh statements the two made against each other. To this, the Dutchman's reply was quite simple, "It's fine. We're good."
