Cowell ignores question about Verstappen amid Aston Martin rumours
Is there any truth to the rumours linking Max Verstappen to a move to Aston Martin? An often asked question ahead of the F1 75 Live event. Even the new team boss of the British racing green team, was asked a question regarding the subject.
Verstappen to Aston Martin?
Rumours of a possible deal between Verstappen and Aston Martin came about up this winter. If he were to agree to make the switch from Red Bull, the Dutchman would see himself pocket as much as €1.19 billion across five years.
Not surprisingly, Verstappen was asked about the speculated move. The Dutchman indicated prior to the F1 75 event that he did in fact held talks with Aston Martin, but only with regards to a GT3 collaboration with the Red Bull driver's own team. Other than that, Verstappen said fairly little about the rumours, as there is nothing to tell, according to him.
Cowell ignores question about Verstappen
Aston Martin's new team boss, Andy Cowell, was also asked what it meant that the fairly new team was already being linked to Verstappen. Cowell, shrudely dodged the question, however: "We’re really really lucky, we’ve got Lance and Fernando, with great experience."
The Aston Martin team boss continued, "There are long term contracts, and the key work for this team is to create a fast race car. We didn’t create that for them last year, and they get a lot of media pressure because of that. The pressure should come in our direction, we’ve got the job to create a fast race car, and then I’m absolutely certain that they are going to deliver."
