Massa trial continues: These are the dates
Felipe Massa is continuing to do all he can to claim the 2008 world title for 'justice' in motorsport. The Brazilian disagrees with the outcome of that championship because of the 'Crashgate' scandal that took place that season. The court dates have now been set for the case over the matter.
This is the date of Massa's court case
It has already become clear in recent years that Massa wants to do everything possible to get the 2008 title to his name in order to seek justice, and as a result, a court case on the outcome of the title will take place from 28 to 31 October, with those involved in that season all expected to appear in court to discuss the outcome of the season which was won by Lewis Hamilton, his maiden F1 title.
Not only Massa's camp will be present, with delegates from FOM and the FIA also having to make an appearance. In addition, the then-executive of the competition, Bernie Ecclestone is expected to make an appearance too.
Why does Massa want the 2008 F1 title?
The reason Massa wants to claim the 2008 title is because of the 'crashgate' scandal that took place in 2008. Nelson Piquet Jr. deliberately crashed at the Singapore Grand Prix to give teammate Fernando Alonso an advantage in the race. In the end, the Spaniard also won the Grand Prix, as they could complete their different strategy.
During the period when the safety car was on the track, which was caused by Piquet Jr's crash, Massa went to refuel his Ferrari, but a mistake led to him leaving early from his pit box and taking the fuel hose with him. As a result, the Brazilian fell way back and lost important points against Hamilton in the standings. If the results of the Singapore GP had not counted, he would have become the champion.
