Only one lap of the 2025 season has been completed, but three cars have already crashed out of the Australian Grand Prix. After Isack Hadjar spun out of the formation lap, hometown hero Jack Doohan and Carlos Sainz both crashed out at a soaking Albert Park to give the start of the campaign a chaotic start.

Sainz and Doohan join Hadjar after lap 1 crash

Before the 2025 season officially got underway, the Racing Bull car of Hadjar found himself in the wall, spinning on the formation lap and running his rear wing, resulting in his debut race in Formula 1 ending before it even began.

However, in the first lap alone, two more drivers joined him on the sidelines due to the soaking-wet nature of the Melbourne circuit after heavy rain fell in the South of Australia on Sunday morning, resulting in a greasy and slippery track.

Doohan only made through two corners before he put a wheel on the white-painted lines, which was all that was needed to send his Alpine spinning around and into the wall, resulting in a heavy-impact crash.

Then, just before lap 1 came to an end, Carlos Sainz in his brand-new Williams also saw a spike in torque, resulting in the Spaniard spinning around and ending his first race for the British team very prematurely, bringing out the safety car as a result.
