Lawson not encouraged by Verstappen's words: 'I want to be at the front'
F1 News

Liam Lawson started from the pit lane in Shanghai after Red Bull Racing revisited the setup, but the New Zealander could not finish inside the points today. He explained what went wrong with that change.
'We went the wrong way'
Lawson finished in P15 this Sunday in China, after qualifying in last place a day before, but was required to start from the pit lane. According to him however, the changes the team made did not help. "The direction we went today was to basically support that and make the car a bit easier in a lot of ways and just help the balance. But unfortunately it just went the wrong way and it made the car just a lot harder to, well a lot slower basically. So yeah, it's the way it is and it's something I'm going to get my head around," he told Sky Sports.
A day before, the driver commented that he needs time, but he doesn't have it. He now expanded on what he meant by that, citing that he'd need more time to prepare. "We're two races in, we're racing and it's something that you'd love to have, 60 test days and things like that. And I know a lot of the other guys tested a lot out of season and unfortunately it's not something we did, but it's not something we can do in this car anyway, so it's just one of those things. It's not an excuse, it's just something that I've got to get on top of as quickly as I can," the driver explained.
Verstappen's words don't encourage Lawson
Max Verstappen also said on Saturday that the RB21 is just hard to drive, and that Lawson could push harder last year in the Racing Bulls car. However, he is little encouraged by that. "Not really, it's just I want to be at the front and I will just keep working to try and achieve that," he concluded.
