Norris hoping for clean Monaco Grand Prix weekend

Lando Norris says he is aiming to put together a clean weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix. The McLaren driver will experience his first Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1 on Sunday.
Having scored a podium finish in Formula 2 last season, he does have form around the twisty streets but admitted the challenge could be harder still in F1.
Looking to bounce back from his shunt during the Spanish Grand Prix with Racing Point's Lance Stroll, the Briton admitted he was focused on making it through the challenging 78 laps around the Principality.
Norris admitted that his weekend may well be decided in qualifying, with overtaking being so difficult around the Monte Carlo streets, the McLaren driver said he knows it could be the performance on Saturday that defines his weekend.
"I’m looking forward to heading back to Monaco, it’s a really cool circuit and I managed to get on the podium there last year in F2. This track requires all your concentration and there’s never really a break anywhere around the lap,” he said.
“There’s a lot of focus on getting it right on Saturday – it can really make or break your weekend as there aren’t many overtaking opportunities there come Sunday.
“My target is to put in a good performance in quali and place ourselves in a position to take advantage of any mid-race drama. The key to scoring points here is to ensure we have a clean race.”
