Pierre Gasly's taken a "massive step forward" and hopes to perform at Silverstone
Pierre Gasly has been really impressive so far this weekend and will hope to have a similar level of success during today's race. The Red Bull driver has had a slow start to the season and has been criticized for not performing in one of the fastest cars on the grid. The Frenchman starts the race in 5th and will hope to push his teammate in order to get the most points he can.
"I would say so far [it's been my] strongest weekend of the year," said Gasly to Motorsport.com. "I think we showed all the improvements we have made.
"What I’m happy about is that there were a lot of things to improve, we had a plan to change to make things better, and we clearly made a step forward. So I think it’s a massive step.
"[Whether] calling it a breakthrough [is right], we’ll see what sort of race I have. But I’m happy about what we have changed and to see that it’s paying off."
Red Bull will start the race on the medium tyre and will hope to have a stronger first stint than the Ferrari's who start on the soft.
Many will hope to see Gasly perform well and try and prove his critics wrong at the British Grand Prix.
