Sergio Perez and Daniel Ricciardo had a coming together during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix and Perez has had his say on the incident.

Both drivers were eliminated during Q1 a disappointing result as both drivers were caught up in traffic. Ricciardo tried overtaking Perez at the final corner with Perez responding by standing his ground and retaking the place. It ended up working against both drivers as neither were able to put in a lap worthy of getting to Q2.

Following the difficult result, Perez spoke about the incident and described Ricciardo's involvement as "crazy".

“It's been a difficult day. I think we could have got through to Q2 to be honest. It would have needed a good lap, but we didn’t get it," Perez said on the SportPesa Racing Point website.

"My final run was badly compromised when all the cars were trying to find space in the final corner.

"That’s where [Daniel] Ricciardo tried to do something crazy, overtaking me in the last corner. He screwed up his lap and my lap too because I ended up too close to Norris and Daniel was close behind me."
