Daniel Ricciardo confident of improvement after summer break

Daniel Ricciardo says that he is looking forward to a bit of time away from Formula 1 to recharge and reset ahead of a big push towards the end of the season as Renault look to improve their position in the Constructors' Championship.

Renault sit down in sixth following an impressive fourth placed finish last season, and will be certainly hoping to overtake Toro Rosso in the latter part of the season.

Seven points in four races for the team is not ideal, and Ricciardo said after the Hungarian Grand Prix: "I don’t want to say it negatively, but it is nice to reset for everyone, and sometimes you need to step away for a bit to actually review things.

"I had, I don’t want to say expectations, but scenarios in my head at the start of the year how things would go.

"Now I can assess where it is and try to understand also what I can do better within myself and within the team to keep everything going, and not let days like this emotionally make me kind of do things that are not positive.

"The summer break will be good for us. I’m confident the second half will be better."
