George Russell reflects on "bizarre qualifying"

Williams' George Russell will start 15th on the grid for tomorrows Belgian Grand Prix but the rookie has admitted he felt it was a bizarre session after he was only able to fit one lap into his session.

Russell qualified 19th for the race at Spa after setting one time which was over a second behind his nearest rival. However, the Brit will benefit from penalties to Sainz, Albon, Kvyat and Stroll to start 15th.

The race at Spa is expected to be one of the tougher races for Williams and Russell is well aware of this fact as he reflects on his day's work.

"We knew before the weekend it was going to be a very different story to Hungary," Russell said in Williams' Saturday report.

Russell is hoping to make the most of the higher starting position on Saturday.

"It was a bizarre qualifying, I was only able to get one lap in due to the red flags in the session. It is how it is, and we will make the most out of it. We will be starting higher up the grid due to penalties, but it will still be a tough race," he concluded.
