Stewards reveal verdict on Sergio Perez and Alex Albon's incident
The stewards have decided to take no further action after the incident between Sergio Perez and Alex Albon was brought to them after the race.
Albon went from the back of the grid to finish 5th and made an overtake on Perez on the final lap. It was this that caused some controversy but it has been decided that no further action will be taken.
It was a strange incident. Perez was ahead but slowed going into the corner in the hope that he would end up behind Albon and get DRS for the straight. Albon saw this and stayed behind Perez giving himself the DRS and the ability to make the overtake.
On the straight, Perez tried to defend his position and pushed Albon out of the track. The Brit dived along the grass past Perez and took P5.
Both drivers had to stand in front of the stewards, but they agreed on the outcome. It was just another racing incident. Perhaps the effect of DRS is too significant if drivers are to do this!
