Red Bull youth is there but "Verstappens or the Vettels are not growing on trees!"
Toro Rosso boss Franz Tost has denied that the pool of young drivers Red Bull have to choose from is drying up, despite a few questionable choices of drivers in recent years.
Both current Toro Rosso drivers have previously driven for Red Bull, bringing up questions around the system that has brought through the likes of Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen.
Last season, Toro Rosso signed a 28-year old Brendon Hartley and this year they brought back Daniil Kvyat and signed Alex Albon having previously disregarded him, although those selections can be considered a success.
However, it is difficult to see where the next Red Bull junior driver is set to come from, and Tost told Reuters: “The pipeline is there. The Max Verstappens or the Vettels are not growing on trees like apples, which you can take every autumn.
“There are a couple of young drivers in Formula Three and I think that some of them will have a future, but it takes time.”
So, which names should you watch out for? Who could be Toro Rosso's, and maybe Red Bull's man for the future? Watch out for these three: Juri Vips, Patricio O'Ward and Yuki Tsunoda...
