Kevin Magnussen: Poor 2019 will only make Haas hungrier for success in 2020
Having finished the 2018 season in fifth place, Haas will be disappointed to have dropped down to ninth in 2019. Kevin Magnussen had been hoping to be fighting for places higher up the grid but thinks that this year's disappointment will make the team even hungrier for success in 2020.
"You always learn, regardless of the situation," said Magnussen to the official Formula 1 channel. “The moment a situation is difficult, you learn all the more, since you learn to tackle certain problems in different ways. You don't learn something like that when you drive in the front in a perfect car. So that aspect has not only been positive for me, but also for the entire team.”
“The P5 was indeed quite impressive, I think. I think there are few teams that have managed to do that in their third season. I think it is wise to gain some confidence from that."
Haas will look to bounce back from this dip and prove that they are capable to compete at the top of the midfield in 2020.
