Williams: "Dan’s technical expertise will prove invaluable"
Claire Williams hopes Dan Ticktum's "technical expertise" will help Williams grow and develop. This comes after the Brit was confirmed to be apart of their programme, joining up as a development driver.
Ticktum has had a dramatic few years in motorsport after twice winning the Macau Grand Prix, he then missed out on the 2018 Formula 3 title to Mick Schumacher. He was then dropped by the Red Bull Junior Programme after a tough stint in Super Formula.
However, he was recently confirmed to race for DAMS in Formula 2 next season and now Williams have snapped up his talent as a development driver. Claire Williams is looking forward to benefitting from what Ticktum has to bring to the table.
“I am delighted that Dan, another exciting young British talent, has joined the Williams Racing Driver Academy," Williams said in a statement.
"His ability behind the wheel has been demonstrated with back-to-back successes at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix in 2017 and 2018.
"Dan’s technical expertise will prove invaluable to the team and we are looking forward to helping him grow and develop in 2020.”
