Formula One entering 70th anniversary season in 2020
- Tom Mason
2020 is the start of the 70th anniversary for Formula One as the sport celebrates the 70th year of the world championship. The year is set to honour F1 greats as well as some of the best races from across the years.
There are many records which have fallen since the first year of the world championship. There have been 33 different world champions, 108 grand Prix winners, over 750 drivers and more than 150 teams, so there is plenty to look back on across the year.
Also, there is a 22 race calendar which sees the addition of the Dutch Grand Prix and the Vietnam Grand Prix for 2020, which all kicks off in Australia in March.
Lewis Hamilton will once again be the favourite to claim the title in the anniversary year, as he looks to move level with F1 legend Michael Schumacher on titles won.
