Hulkenberg not ruling out F1 return
Nico Hulkenberg's current spell in Formula 1 may have come to an end but the German isn't ruling out a return to sport, admitting there are some things he cannot influence.
Hulkenberg departs the pinnacle of motorsport having enjoyed spells with Williams, Force India, Sauber and most recently Renault. However, after Esteban Ocon will replace him from next season and the one-time pole sitter was unable to find another seat.
The German has had time to reflect on his time in Formula 1 and refused to rule out a return but admits it might not be all bad to have a break.
"At the moment it is not as difficult as I expected," Hulkenberg told the German news agency DPA.
"Maybe after ten years, it's not so bad at all to have a break, especially after a difficult year like 2019. Who knows what it will be good for in the end.
"At the moment the only certain thing is that I will not be in a car for the first race of 2020.
"There is nothing concrete for the future, but we will have to see what the results are like. There are things that I cannot influence," he added.
