Max Verstappen has revealed the new helmet design he will use during the 2020 Formula 1 season with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, sporting a few different changes to his 2019 version.

Verstappen’s lid hasn’t changed much from his 2019 design that saw him take three victories throughout the year in Austria, Germany and Brazil, as well as two poles in Hungary and at Interlagos.

Alongside the addition of his new partner CarNext.com, the Lion symbol on the top of the helmet has had a slight colour change, featuring more gold than red compared to last year from the image above.

“The most important change on my new helmet is that my new partner CarNext.com is on it," he said.

"I didn’t want to change my helmet too much, because I really like the white background. I opted for a bit more white and gold, also on the top of the helmet. The lion is the opposite compared to last year: it was red with a shade of gold and this year it’s gold with a shade of red.

"Also on the back of the helmet the details are in gold. I haven’t made too many changes, but it has a fresher look. Especially with the halo on top of the car, this helmet will stand out a bit more. I’m happy with it!”

The Dutchman signed a contract extension with Red Bull last month to remain at the team for another four seasons until the end of the 2023 season after being impressed by the power and work of engine supplier Honda.

2020 has been said to be perhaps Verstappen’s and the energy drink team’s best chance at a title before the overhaul of regulations coming in 2021 that will see changes made to the look of cars and a $175 million budget on car development for all teams.
