Albon very optimistic: "The RB16 feels good"
Max Verstappen is driving the RB16 on its initial shakedown at Silverstone. Alexander Albon will have to wait a little longer before he gets his chance, but he feels confident about Aston Martin Red Bull Racing's new challenger after simulator work.
It feels good
In conversation with Speedweek, Albon says the team and himself are optimistic about the new car: "Of course we hadn't covered a single meter before the roll-out in Silverstone, but in the simulator, we got a first taste of the driving characteristics and we know which way we are going and it feels good."
"I can feel how excited the people in the factory are, we believe in our chance to achieve something special in 2020."
Strong competition
Yet Albon spares a thought for their competition. "We are aware that the competition with Mercedes and Ferrari is very strong. Everyone will improve. The only question is who has improved the most," he added.
