BREAKING: Red Bull Racing unveil Verstappen and Albon's 2020 F1 challenger!
Aston Martin Red Bull Racing have unveiled their challenger for the 2020 Formula 1 season. The car, named RB16, will be driven by both Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon who continue their partnership from the second half of last season. This new car will compete in Red Bull's second year with a Honda engine after a relatively successful first year together.
Verstappen managed to beat both Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc in last year's Formula 1 world championship to highlight some progress. It was a disappointing year for their Italian rivals. Christian Horner and the rest of his team will be looking to build on this performance as Albon enters the season after a more relaxed winter from his standards.
Last year, Helmut Marko set a goal of winning five races. That wasn't achieved and despite that, he has made his goal even tougher this year. He wants Verstappen to be the closest challenger to Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.
Pushing Mercedes
Valtteri Bottas was closest to Hamilton last year, and to get as close as he did will require at least 15 podium finishes from this new RB16.
The livery launched today will only be present during pre-season testing. Red Bull's colours and patterns on the car don't change much through the years so they decide to shake it up during pre-season. The design of the livery also helps disguise the shapes of the new car as much as possible.
