Oscar Piastri, following his win in Jeddah, is leading the championship. Something he's completely unfazed by, since at the moment, it's too early for it to be worth anything.
Speaking during the FIA post-race conference, Piastri answered on if and what changed his approach to the F1 season now that he was the championship leader.
"No. I still want to go out and try and win every race I can," was the Australian's response.
"I'm not that bothered by the fact that I'm leading the championship, but I'm proud of the work and the reasons behind why we're leading the championship," he added.

Piastri knows why current F1 championship lead is meaningless

With two poles and three wins this season, he's the driver to beat as the standings show, where he leads teammate Lando Norris and rival Max Verstappen. A strong progression when compared to his rather inconsistent 2024. Piastri, knows where this leap in performance - and results - came from.
"Melbourne wasn't a great start to the year in terms of results. But from the moment I've hit the track this season, I felt like I've been in a good place. Leading the championship is a result of all the hard work we've done in the off-season, the hard work I've done personally, the hard work the team's done."
Piastri being unfazed by leading the championship comes as no surprise given his reasoning. "I'm more proud of all of those things than I am of the fact that I'm leading the championship because, ultimately, I want to be leading it after round 24, not round five."
