Nicholas Latifi is the newcomer to Formula 1 this year, but his debut has not yet taken place because of the coronavirus. The same virus is also responsible for the postponement of the Canadian Grand Prix, which of course causes the driver to be very disappointed again. The Canadian driver might see his home race disappear, although rescheduling the Grand Prix is not out of the question.

Disappointed

Tuesday evening it was announced that Quebec will remain locked for the time being and therefore the organisation of the Grand Prix in Montreal cannot start on time.

"I am disappointed that I now have to wait longer for the chance to drive a home race. Since I started racing it has always been my goal to represent my country at the highest level. Since I've been a driver at Williams, I've been looking forward to this race", said the dissapointed Latifi to Motorsport.com.

To be expected

Of course it was to be expected that the race would be postponed, as the end of the pandemic is not yet in sight. Something Latifi also realizes, he says: "It was inevitable." He is also very sorry for the organisation, which has been involved in the preparations for a long time.

For example, he states that they had fun things planned, which of course makes sense to organize with him and possibly Lance Stroll - also Canadian. That might be possible at a later moment, since the Canadian Grand Prix has not been cancelled. So there is some chance that it will return on the calendar this year, but that should be before mid-October.
