Formula 1 is currently trying to put together a calendar that complies with the guideliness for the coronavirus. However, according to Sebastian Vettel, it doesn't matter how many races are driven for a championship.

A shorter season

The Formula 1 season of 2020 would actually count 22 races, but due to the coronavirus, the Monaco and Australia Grands Prix are cancelled, making a season record impossible. Whereas in recent years there have been more and more races in a calendar, in 2020 one might now see another shorter season.

''Where some prefer as many races as possible in this season, Vettel doesn't see the need for that. A season is a season. Whether you drive ten, fifteen or twenty races. I don't know how such a short season will feel, but in the past they didn't know any better and it was also a beautiful sport in terms of experience'', says Vettel in a videoconference attended by Motorsport.com.

Different driving style

''I don't think anyone knows how the season will go now and maybe we'll overlap with next season. There are so many options now, that we just have to wait and see what is decided'', who understands that the way of driving in a shorter championship will be different.

''With fewer races in a season, each race in itself is more valuable and that will count in racing. In the end, the championship is still the same and the title battle will always be a matter of the longest breath and people have to make as few mistakes as possible to become champion'', concludes Vettel.
