Verstappen gets support: 'Absolutely not even with people who think he's reckless'

Robert Kubica had proposed his return to Formula 1 perhaps somewhat different from what was finally the case in 2019. Nevertheless, the Polish driver has achieved it and he was able to enjoy the talent of the current generation.
In an interview with Autosprint, Kubica was asked about the best drivers of the current generation. In the Williams the Pole couldn't compete for victory at all, but he did see one driver out of who he didn't expect: Max Verstappen.
Verstappen much smarter
"Max is very strong in every area and I don't get the reviews he gets. I absolutely disagree with the people who think that he would drive recklessly'', says the Pole who mainly impressed for his rally crash. At BMW, Kubica won and in2008 he even competed for the title for a long time.
Asked if Verstappen can be compared to the drivers of Ferrari, Kubica is very clear. "That's comparing apples with pears. There's no point at all in comparing drivers, because everyone has their own background. However, Verstappen is a much more intelligent driver than people think and he will certainly be world champion," concludes the Pole.
