Formula 1 want races on weekdays: ''TV stations insist on Sunday''

The Formula 1 season should start at the beginning of July in Austria, but locally there are still some doubts about the possible spread of the coronavirus. Helmut Marko, however, now clarifies this.
Oh, don't worry
''No one in the region needs to worry, because everyone who enters the area here has already been tested. The teams are going with half of the staff and those 80 people have already been tested before arrival. At AlphaTauri and Red Bull Racing we have already done several tests and that will happen even more often'', says Marko at Sport am Sonntag of ORF.
''If someone does get infected it will be resolved soon enough. There are several isolation places where suspects go to be isolated from the rest. The rest of the team will be closely monitored and everything will be done to prevent further spread of the virus''.
F1 takes everything in hand
''Everyone will be tested continuously there and also between the two races. Each team stays in its own hotel and everything is very well arranged inside. It will have to be an example of all the races that follow'', says Marko. The organization in Spielberg does a lot of work, but according to Marko Formula One Management has also taken a lot into their hands.
''We wanted to race on other days first, but the TV stations have determined that we really have to race on Sunday. There is also an agreement between FOM and Spielberg project, where it has been made clear that FOM will take almost everything into their hands. Spielberg only has to take care of peripheral issues such as the Marshalls and hospitality'', concludes Marko, who previously said that fans might even be welcome at the race.
