Buxton: ''Albon must make a step forward and hook up with Verstappen''

In 2019 it was Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz who were allowed to write their name with the big boys after a strong season, but who can make the step to the top in 2020? Will Buxton makes some predictions.
At the top there have been several drivers for years who can compete for victories and titles, provided they get into the right car. Last season Leclerc and Sainz were added to that list of names. Leclerc by his victories and series of poles and Sainz by his constant performance, 'best of the rest' title and of course his podium in Brazil.
Can Albon handle Verstappen?
''In any other season, in 2019, Alexander Albon would be considered breakthrough talent. He went from no seat to Formula E, then to Formula 1 and half a year later he joined Red Bull Racing. He's shy, but he's on the grid with a lot of confidence and has worked hard to get there," says the Formula 1 presenter at Formula1.com.
According to Buxton there is a chance for Albon to really break through in 2020. ''If he can make a step forward and get close to Max Verstappen, this year he can make sure he can secure his place within Red Bull and Formula 1 for the long term'', concludes the Formula 1 expert.
