Brundle: ''Verstappen is really not going to get on the track very carefully now''

The Formula 1 season is finally starting and the question is of course whether the long break will have any effect on the drivers' performance. In the preview of Martin Brundle, he thinks that will not be the case.
Verstappen does not take it easy
It is exactly six months ago today that the Formula 1 drivers last came into action for a race during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. So in terms of racing the drivers need to earn some income again, but in the preview of Sky Sports Brundle says that he doesn't think this will have much effect.
''I don't suddenly see drivers like Max Verstappen or Charles Leclerc calm down on the track. You have to be balanced, because the results count more in a shorter season, but the battle for victory will only get bigger", says the former Formula 1 driver ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.
Mercedes the favorite
Big favourite for 2020 is still Mercedes and according to Brundle they have one advantage. ''A small calendar brings out some highlights and big developments. That takes away some variables and that is in favor of Mercedes," says Brundle who does not forget the competition.
''That said, we should not underestimate Red Bull Racing. They were very strong during testing and we'll see with what Honda comes up with. In addition, there is also Ferrari, which despite the problems in Barcelona should never be written off", concludes Brundle.
