CONFIRMED! Italy gets a second F1 Grand Prix in Mugello!
- Thierry Bakker
It was coming for a while, but it has just been announced that F1 will stay in Italy after the race at Monza. The F1 circus will travel from Italy to Tuscany after the Italian Grand Prix to race on September 13th at Mugello.
The circuit located in the hills above Florence is not an unknown territory for Formula 1. The track was used for an F1 test in 2012, but there were conflicting opinions after this test. For example, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner stated that the environment is very beautiful and the food very good, but it wasn't really a solid circuit to test.
The drivers, on the other hand, are positive about the circuit, which has many fast corners and according to some drivers is described as spectacular and incredibly fast. Earlier it was announced that MotoGP will travel to the the Tuscan circuit this season.
