FIA presents starting list GP Silverstone; Perez still registered
- GPblog.com
A shock in the paddock; Sergio Perez is said to have gotten an unclear result from his corona test and the Mexican was immediately retested. The driver including some team members have to wait for results of the new tests. That may take some time. At least until then they won't take any action.
Sergio Perez did not appear at the press on Thursday at the Silverstone circuit at the start of the GP in the United Kingdom. Reason for his absence was that the Racing Point driver was quarantined as a precaution. There was uncertainty around his corona test result.
The new result has to come in quickly, because without clarity Perez and some members of staff are not allowed to go out of quarantine. If the results are positive, they can forget about the whole weekend.
Perez is on the FIA registration list.
Thursday evening the FIA just came out with the starting list for the upcoming GP on which the name of Sergio Perez was mentioned. So for now there seems to be little going on. Of course last minute changes can still take place there.
The team has probably had no contact yet about a possible replacement for the Mexican. It also remains to be seen whether the team can start at all in case of a positive test. If the team is allowed to start, but Perez is not, we think that Esteban Gutierrez might be able to step into the seat of his compatriot.
The official @FIA entry list for the 2020 #BritishGP has just been issued. It includes the usual 20 race drivers, no tests or reserves, including at @RacingPointF1, despite @SChecoPerez not being at the circuit today: https://t.co/MC2EDMTKqd #F1
