Masi explains situation: "Friday, Racing Point can nominate a replacement

Sergio Perez has been found positive for the coronavirus and that causes a lot of concern. The race director of the FIA, Michael Masi, explains in front of the camera what the next steps will be for the team and the driver.
"He's going into quarantine and that's under the supervision of the local government and health organizations. This is of course supported by the FIA and Formula 1. They will take measures and see with whom he has been in contact to ensure that the safety around the event is maintained", says Masi in a video of Formula 1.
Who may replace Perez
Racing Point will now have to look for a replacement for the Mexican and in that short period of time it won't be easy. Masi indicates that Formula 1 will accept a replacement faster than before and also points out the possible reserve drivers present on the paddock.
''Several teams have spare drivers available and are already on the list for the whole year, so we'll see with the team what's possible. This will open tomorrow morning (Friday morning) to change and then they can nominate someone as a replacement'', concludes Masi.
