Leclerc has trouble with radical setup: "Difficulty finding balance"
- GPblog.com
Ferrari is working on a difficult season, that much is clear by now. It also looks like they won't be climbing out of this valley any time soon. The Grand Prix of Great Britain is definitely too early for that. Especially if we can believe the words of Charles Leclerc after the free practice sessions.
During the second free practice session on Friday afternoon he was able to set a fourth time, but the teams don't do that much with that. The first day was about the longruns, which didn't look good according to the Monegask.
Compensation for lack of power?
"We're really struggling with the race speed. It was very difficult to find balance and not to make mistakes. We really have to work on that. The qualifying speed is a bit better than we expected, so that's good", the Ferrari driver said in front of his own camera of Formula 1.
According to Leclerc, the team opted for a fairly radical setup this weekend for the downward pressure. He doesn't say what that means exactly, but given his comments, it seems that Ferrari wants to compensate their lack of power by driving around with little downward pressure.
