Small problem at Verstappen: "Trying something with the switches"
Max Verstappen is very pleased with his second place in Spain. A duel for the victory with Lewis Hamilton failed, but with scoring eighteen World Championship points the driver of Red Bull Racing does not complain.
"It's quite a result," said Verstappen in conversation with Sky Sports. The Dutchman explains why he expressed his dissatisfaction to his engineer. "I wanted to make a pit stop, because the tyres were gone at the end. I also think that after that we should focus on our fastest strategy and that we shouldn't look at the Mercedes cars."
Bottas is given the check
The nine-time Grand Prix winner then came to ride the mediums and that felt a lot more comfortable. "Everything went fine from that moment on. Lewis was faster, but I managed to keep Bottas behind me."
Towards the end of the race Verstappen seemed to go a bit slower with the RB16. According to the Dutchman there was less power. "We tried some things with the switches. Because of that I had the feeling that I had less power, but what we tried worked," he concluded with the British media.
