Hamilton felt great during GP Spain: "Was ready to continue".
The previous race at the Silverstone circuit did not go as expected for Mercedes, but in Spain Lewis Hamilton is again extremely dominant. The six-time world champion took victory and led every lap of the race.
" It's been a great achievement for the team, it felt so good today. That was a surprise, because we had problems with the tyres. Managing them went very well today. What went wrong last week, we learned from that, so we were able to put this down today. I didn't even know it was the last lap at the end, that bad I was in my zone. I was ready to continue," Hamilton said after the race.
"Before a race I always study what tyres we still have and what strategy we are going to use. I understood that we could use the tyres longer than we planned, so I even thought about a one-stopper, but I think the strategy we used was the right one. There was no reason to take the risk of the soft tyre, so I put fresh medium tyres under it. I want to thank everyone at the factory for working through it, despite the big problems in the world," concluded the Brit.
