Former team boss slams Binotto: "Technicians don't understand psychological side"

Although Sebastian Vettel and Mattia Binotto both claim that there's complete harmony between the two parties, many regular followers doubt that. Vettel doesn't seem to be in his element at all this season and according to former team boss, Colin Kolles, Binotto is partly to blame for that.
"Binotto is a very good engineer, but an engineer is not a team boss. From my point of view, an engineer can't be a team boss either. I know Binotto personally. He is a person formed by numbers and not by feelings. There is no warmth. These technicians don't understand the psychological side," Kolles said in an analysis at Sport1.
Problems between Vettel and Ferrari started several years ago
The way Vettel was put aside by Binotto at the beginning of the season was, according to Kolles, was just rubbing salt in the wouds with problems starting way before this season. The four-time world champion has not had the full support of the team management even in his most successful seasons with the team.
"The problems started a few years ago. When Sebastian could have won the world title he didn't get the full support of the team. The first scratches appeared in the relationship. If a team wants to become world champion, it has to be with a number -1 driver. And that should have been Vettel."
