Norris: "Don't believe we have the best car after Mercedes and Red Bull"

Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris are the only drivers who have managed a podium place in 2020. The name of Lando Norris stands out especially given doubts over anyone could challenge Mercedes, Red Bull and previously Ferrari.
In the Constructors' Championship the racing stable from Woking is currently going well. With fourth place and only one point behind Racing Point McLaren is fighting for the title 'best of the rest' this year. Norris and his team hadn't even considered that before the season. "No, it's going much better than expected," Lando admitted at the NOS.
McLaren slower than Racing Point
The battle with Racing Point and Ferrari in that coveted third place is completely open, because many teams don't give in to each other. Behind that Renault are hoping to find some form in the upcoming Grands Prix. "They haven't exactly been spoiled here (at McLaren) in recent seasons, but we can't relax. I also don't believe that after Mercedes and Red Bull Racing we have the best car of the field."
"We take advantage of crashes and mistakes of others and beat teams that are faster. Or should be faster, like Ferrari and Racing Point. With that car, the podium should be a cinch. They are much faster than us. Racing Point should make it difficult for Max."
Norris is going to work with Ricciardo
Next year Norris welcomes a new teammate. Daniel Ricciardo will replace Carlos Sainz, who will leave for Ferrari.
"We look alike, but we can also be very serious. Our mentality also matches: passionate and passionate about motor racing. Of course we take our job seriously, but you also have to have fun. Focused when necessary and having fun when possible," Norris explained.
Norris expects a lot from the collaboration in 2021. "Daniel will be a great teammate. He has won GP's and I can learn a lot from him. He can learn a lot from me as well. Every driver has strengths and weaknesses. I'm looking forward to his arrival, but for now we are still each other's enemies on the track. And of course at McLaren we will also be each other's biggest competitor. That's part of Formula 1."
