Verstappen not without a chance: ''It goes between Hamilton and him''

For the time being it is still Mercedes that is beating the clock in 2020, but with the Belgian Grand Prix approaching, there is another opportunity for Max Verstappen. How does the Dutchman compare to Lewis Hamilton at Spa-Francorchamps?
In the first six races it was mainly Mercedes that won Formula 1. Verstappen only won the second race at Silverstone, when Pirelli opted for a softer set of tyres on the heavy track. However, this combination of a heavy track and soft tyres is now also on the programme in Belgium.
Verstappen for victory in Belgium
''What those tens of thousands of fans hoped for last year, I see happening this year. I think Verstappen has a chance to win this time. Just like Silverstone, Spa is the most stressful track for the tyres and we've seen what those softer tyres had an impact on Silverstone during the race'', says Kees van de Grint at RTL GP Slipstream.
Bridgestone's former tyre expert therefore believes in a victory for the Dutchman. ''Last year Ferrari was in a class of its own, but Verstappen was close by with an old spec engine. It will be between Hamilton and Verstappen and with Pirelli's choice of tyres I don't think Max has no chance'', concludes Van de Grint, who also states that Verstappen can 'solve it all by himself' in the rain.
