Albon happy with Red Bull updates: ''Now a lot better in the corners''
Alexander Albon got a lot of confidence from Friday in Belgium. The Thai is in fourth place and even finished his qualifying run in front of Valtteri Bottas. Albon is therefore satisfied after the session.
"It went well actually. From the first lap I was very strong and we just have some updates here that make the car a bit better in the corners. The balance feels a lot better and I'm glad we were able to take this step," Albon said to Sky Sports after the second free practice.
Albon inspires confidence
Albon also needs the confidence because the pressure is on him to perform. The second seat at Red Bull has been under discussion for months now, as Albon can't match Max Verstappen. A good step forward in Belgium would be welcome.
"It's still hard to say where we stand with all the different engine modes. It's clear that teams like Renault and Racing Point are putting more emphasis on the straight and power," concludes the driver of Red Bull.
