Red Bull Racing made the switch from Renault to Honda engines last season, a decision that has been satisfying for both parties. In the last few races, however, Renault seem to be gaining on Honda in terms of engine power. How does Verstappen view this?

"I find that very difficult to say," Verstappen says during the virtual press conference from Red Bull Racing when asked which of the two manufacturers have a stronger power source. “It could of course also be due to the car, that it has very little resistance, things like that. To be able to really say that, that engine must of course also be in our car, then you can compare it perfectly. In any case, they have quite a bit of power, yes. ”

Better cooperation with Honda

The fact that Renault is doing so well on circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps and Monza is, according to many followers, a sign that Renault have now overtaken Honda's power. Even if this were the case, Verstappen says he is satisfied with the current collaboration. There are also other issues that are important.

“I think we have made good progress and we are also reliable. Ultimately, that is also important. I also really like the way we work together, so I'm still very happy with the switch we've made. I actually only look at Mercedes, because that is the team you have to beat. I don't look back that much."
