Perez after P4 in qualifying: "We can definitely compete tomorrow"
Sergio Perez has had a good qualifying session in Italy. Tomorrow the Mexican will start on the second row of the grid, starting from P4.
The driver of Racing Point is very happy with the result, he let Sky Sports know. "We are very happy, we really didn't expect this performance. Our speed actually didn't look so good. But I think we can have a good pace in the race tomorrow and that we can compete for a good finish."
Podium possible?
But Perez also saw a number of things that didn't go according to plan. "I was far too far away from the car in front of me. That hurt me on the straight. But tomorrow we can definitely join in. If all goes well there might be a podium in it."
To reach that podium 'Checo' will first have to pass Carlos Sainz, who brilliantly qualified in third place with his McLaren.
