Ferrari remain silent about Honda. Chance of cooperation small
- GPblog.com
Now that Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri will be without an engine supplier from 2022, the question also arises as to whether the Ferrari engine is an option for both teams? With the Italian brand, they have so far been silent about Honda's departure and the possibilities for cooperation.
So there is no official reaction from Ferrari yet, but according to Motorsport.com the feeling is that Red Bull are not a priority for the Italians. "Especially because Sergio Marchionne, when he was President of Ferrari, refused to deliver to Christian Horner before Red Bull decided to go into business with Honda. This does not seem to have changed over time, although there is still more than a year to go to see how this will evolve".
Previous successes with Ferrari
If it does come to that cooperation, it will not be the first time for Red Bull. Torro Rosso used the Ferrari engine from 2007 to 2013. In 2008, Sebastian Vettel won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in the Ferrari-powered car.
