Daniil Kvyat drove a very solid race during the Grand Prix at Imola. The Russian driver at AlphaTauri achieved his best season result with fourth place at the Italian circuit. However, a seat for 2021 is looking unlikely.

This can be deduced from the words of Helmut Marko, in conversation with the German-speaking media after the race. The Red Bull advisor hinted that the 26-year-old rider would have to look for a new team.

At Sky Sport, the talent scout of the Austrian racing team indirectly says that there is no room for Kvyat next year. "Nothing changes in the plans for 2021." The twelve World Championship points that Kvyat managed to score are not going to give him a place in the Red Bull family.

Will it be Albon or Tsunoda?

The main candidates to succeed Pierre Gasly's teammate are Yuki Tsunoda and Alexander Albon. The former has yet to achieve his super license by finishing in the top-four of the Formula 2 championship. Albon has to fear for his place at Red Bull Racing and may be returned to AlphaTauri.

It is expected that Marko and his colleagues will make further announcements about this around the Bahrain Grand Prix. Until then, it will remain a guess. This will certainly have to do with whether Tsundo will be able to obtain his super license or not.
