Mick Schumacher is on the verge of making the step up to Formula 1 with Haas. Jean Todt described the son of Michael Schumacher, as "talented" but wouldn't comment whether he would have the same level as his father or Lewis Hamilton.
Jean Todt is one of a few people to have regular contact with the Schumacher family and in particular Michael. Little is known about the condition of the seven-time World Champion following his skiing accident. In an interview with De Telegraaf Todt explained how he meets him regularly to watch television.
"He is still fighting, together with his family and his doctors. I also meet him regularly. We watch television together," Todt said.
The next young talent
"Mick is a young, talented driver and of course he has a big name. Once he gets into Formula 1 he won't have a winning car and that will probably take time. We don't know yet if he has the same talent as his father, Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton.
"Will he take Mick's successes with him? I'm not going to talk about that, what that is private," Todt concluded.
