Verstappen, Gasly and Russell among drivers to get new gearbox in Turkey
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen will drive the Turkish Grand Prix with a new gearbox. The Dutchman is not the only driver who will have a new gearbox fitted in his car.
This was announced by the FIA this evening. Along with Verstappen, Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly, Kevin Magnussen, George Russell and Antonio Giovinazzi will also be driving with a new gearbox. From this list Giovinazzi is the only driver to have finished the last Grand Prix at Imola.
No penalties
Despite the fact that as many as six out of twenty drivers fit a new gearbox in the back of their car, there are no penalties. Each driver remains within the permitted number of gearboxes.
