Toto Wolff will stay on for another year as Mercedes team boss after all. It was reported that one of the major factors in Lewis Hamilton's contract renewal was Wolff's choice. Wolff admitted he expects the pair's work together to continue.
Lewis wants the fastest car
The contract of the six-time world champion expires in a month and a half. While the Brit may be two days away from his seventh title, there is still no signature on any contract for the coming year. However, both parties do not seem to be worried yet. Hamilton himself said he was just looking for improvements to the contract.
Talking to Sky Sports, team boss Wolff says he is not worried about the continuation of the partnership: "We have a relationship based on mutual trust. We have regularly given each other positive signals. There is no reason for Lewis not to be in a car as competitive as the Mercedes."

With the reassuring words of the team boss, all speculation about the future of both the driver and the team boss himself seems to be coming coming to an end. Wolff concluded: "There is no reason for us to look for another driver.
"It's a perfect collaboration and I see no reason why it shouldn't go on." About his own future with the team, Wolff says: "I will be 100% the team boss of Mercedes next year."
