Mercedes CEO happy with Hamilton: "As a company and as a team we stand behind him"

Mercedes had already secured a seventh constructors' championship in Imola, but in Turkey they also managed to win the drivers' championship with Lewis Hamilton. With three races to go, the lead over Valtteri Bottas is unbridgeable, so Hamilton is on a par with Michael Schumacher.
Ola Källenius, Chairman of Daimler and Mercedes, speaks of Hamilton's great success. "A seventh world championship is a great achievement. Lewis has been part of the Mercedes family for over twenty years. He started out as a great kart talent and is now one of the best drivers ever," says Källenius in the Mercedes review.
Hamilton as an example
"Lewis continues to improve, even if it seems that there is little more to improve. I am therefore very curious to see where his path still leads."
According to the Chairman of Mercedes' parent company, Hamilton's performance is not just on the track. "It's not just the development Lewis is going through on the track that is impressive, but his inspiring story beyond that.
"He has become an example of diversity and he has also taken a number of steps on this important issue. As a team and a company, we stand behind him and are proud to be part of our family," said Källenius.
