"There is no magic that ensures our car always do well here"

At Haas they are hopeful that they can finish the last few races of the season with a good feeling. Team boss Guenther Steiner has been looking back on the performance of his team in previous years in Bahrain.
Normally the GP of Bahrain is a race that is held at the beginning of the season. Many teams are still looking for the right settings for their car and there are often surprising results at the beginning of the season. This was also the case for Haas in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Romain Grosjean came fifth in 2016, Magnussen came eighth in 2017 and the Dane came fifth in 2018.
Hope
But Steiner does not think that the good results in those years had anything to do with the fact that the race was held at the beginning of the season. "This track suits our car very well. In those aforementioned years, we were always in the right place at the right time. There is no magic that ensures that our car always does well here. Of course I hope it will happen again this year," he said in the preview on the Haas website.
The 55-year-old team boss also says he is happy that the layout for the second race in Bahrain is different. "I love it when things are done differently to bring a bit of life into the brewery. This also creates new challenges. I am a big fan of two layouts of the same circuit. It shows smart thinking, so let's see what it brings."
