Marko sees another improvement area for Verstappen: 'Then he was not patient'
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen ended a very consistent season with victory in Abu Dhabi. Helmut Marko is very satisfied with his pupil, but he saw one more mistake with the Dutchman.
Verstappen made his Formula 1 debut in 2015 and has been an integral part of Formula 1 since he joined Red Bull Racing in 2016. However, the Dutchman is only 23 years old and has made mistakes in recent seasons. In 2020, however, Red Bull's driver was less likely to make that mistake.
Marko sees room for improvement
In this season Verstappen was very consistent. Every Saturday he qualified ahead of his teammate Alexander Albon and on Sunday he was usually the fastest of the two. There were downtime events for Verstappen in Italy and Sakhir, all through no fault of his own. Nevertheless, Marko will still have a point for improvement.
"Max keeps getting better and better, only in Turkey he was not patient enough. The rest, however, was fantastic'', says the Austrian opposite Formel1.de. Red Bull's top man has always been a big fan of Verstappen, but is also critical if necessary. The Dutchman was indeed too impatient with his action on Sergio Perez in Turkey, but will have learned from that himself to be even stronger as a driver in 2021.
