Since the arrival of Liberty Media, there has been one important item on the agenda all along: Racing in America. Now there is one race on the Formula 1 calendar in America, but there should be more.

With new American owners, it was not surprising that Liberty Media aimed to organise an extra Grand Prix in their own country. There has been a race in Austin in recent years, but they also want a race in Miami. However, besides a possible race in Miami, there are other candidates for a place on the calendar in 2022.

F1 to America

''Racing in America is an ongoing matter and I hope I can give you a clear answer soon. The aim is to have two races in America, but I can't say now if Vegas is better as a venue or worse. We are working hard on it and Indianapolis is also a candidate," Stefano Domenicali points to the circuit where a GP was last held in 2007.

However, Domenicali tells Autoweek that nothing is clear yet. ''We are working on it and have full focus on this. In America, we also have to make sure that more is known about F1. More information about drivers and teams has to be spread there. That is something we are going to work hard on this year'', the Formula One CEO concludes.
