Daniel Ricciardo scored six points in his debut race for McLaren at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Australian qualified ahead of new teammate Lando Norris on Saturday, but it was the British driver who finished higher on race day.

Pretty satisfied

In pre-season testing, McLaren looked comfortable. They didn't set any lightning-quick times, nor did they complete the most mileage but body language and reactions suggested they were strong. The same message was repeated during Friday practice, but Ricciardo says the team have plenty to work ahead of the next race in Italy.

"The weekend as a whole pretty satisfied. The race itself I struggled with pace. I wouldn't say it was a strong race by any means plenty to work on," Ricciardo told Sky Sports F1.

"Imola is next and I like that track. I think it's pretty good. Looking at the data from yesterday we seem decent in the high speed. I would guess Imola would be better for us. I am looking forward to this one."
