For today's third free practice and qualifying session at Imola, the FIA made additional changes to the enforcement of track limits on the circuit. Turn 13 of the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari will no longer be monitored, where it was initially intended to be this weekend.

This is reported by Formula One journalist Chris Medland on Twitter. "Turn 13 (exit from Acque Minerali) is now free to go, where previously you weren't allowed to cut the apex." During the two sessions on Friday, the lap times of several drivers were taken away for exceeding track limits, however, this mostly concerned the kerbs at the ninth corner of the circuit.

The adjustment also at Variante Alte

Freer racing is also allowed at Variante Alta, the chicane at turns 14 and 15, than previously indicated by the FIA, Medland knows. "Drivers also told they're fine to cut the apex to use the big yellow kerbs at the Variante Alta", he said.

Despite the change at this part of the circuit, drivers are still not allowed to go outside the kerbs. "Cars will be permitted to drive on the yellow kerbs located at the apex of Turns 14 and 15. Leaving the track to cut across the kerbs is not permitted and a penalty may be applied." However, Medland predicts that the changes will not have a major impact on racing.
